Warning about easy start

Using easy start is not an option.....this also did for the piston and in turn cylinder...We sell a little electric fuel pump to make sure the carb bowls are full...a couple of pumps on the throttle and your away.....

Kim’s ‘A’ Coupe is back to get a pair of bumpers fitted.
This is the car that you may recall we restored for Jim.
Kim has bought the car and wanted us to fit a set of bumpers with GT deco trims.
With the bumpers fitted we now have to fit a set of our PRS spot-light brackets.

How many 1953 Pre ‘A’ Coupes are there left in the world?
Geoff’s is a great example. It was in for a full PRS Service ‘B’ and to have both carbs ultra sonically cleaned and re-sealed.

At last some of our tin-wear is back from the stove enamellers.It’s a lot of work to get this tin ready to fit.
We have to de-grease everything and disassemble everything, then we mask any parts that need protecting from media blasting, it’s then blasted and returned to us. Then we have to examine every part and make sure it is the shape it should be. Any part that needs repair is rejected or repaired depending on its important or our stock level. We then have to re-mask all the parts again and take the whole lot to the stove enamellers. We then have to un-wrap everything and de-mask it......

Alistair’s ‘C’ Coupe gets a new set of front suspension trailing arms.Whilst going through the service on Alistair’s car Lee noticed that the front suspension felt far too hard.
After inspecting obvious components we had to delved deeper until a bent trailing arm was found.

Werks 914-55

Well it’s been about 12 years since Mike and myself bought and started to work on this 914/6 GT.It was when we had to move it out of storage again that we took the decision to really go for it and finish what we had started.
We are only the second owners of the car and it was bought from the Porsche factory by it’s previous owner.
We don’t have much to go on as to what it was used for by Porsche but it carries the internal werks number of 55 inside the left-hand door shut. We would hazard a guess at it being a spare or recce car for the Monte Carlo rally as the chassis number and internal numbers go in series with the three Monte cars and also that the car’s colour is signal orange.
Interestingly as well is that the caris a 1971and it was sold by the factory in 1973. The engine number is the first every 914/6 engine = 6400001
The factory did do this sort of thing at the time. A car would be used for testing and as a general hack....they would then two years down the line have no use for it and bung any old spare parts they had around on the car to make it work and you could just buy them from them.

Alistair’s ‘C’ Coupe is in to be re-commissionedBy this I mean it has been off the road for some years. We always find that the best thing to do is to give a car one of our ‘B’ services. This allows us to go through the whole car from front to back and write a report on anything we find whilst carrying out the service.
We also find that when cars have been standing, that they will need any old fuel drained out and all the flexible fuel hoses changed. Modern fuels have a very short shelf life and also attack the rubber that the fuel hose is made of.

Roy’s 914 is in for a leaking rear main crank oil seal and a few other bits.The bad news for Roy is that the starter motor fitted was incorrect and we now have a damaged fly-wheel.
Not a really bad problem on issue but a pain, non the less !!!
